What Do Cam Models Think About This?
TLDR
I've spent half my camming career troubleshooting tech gremlins nobody warned me about, so when Streammate's exclusive requests started acting up for me this week, I went down the rabbit hole. Here's what I found.
Why Did My Exclusive Requests Vanish Without a Notification?
So here's what happened: a couple of viewers were telling me they saw a message about an exclusive request, but I never got the popup. No notification, no accept, no reject. Nothing on my end. Then a regular tried to start an excl himself and the button just wouldn't work for him, even though exclusives on my account are always switched on.
That combination is telling. When a viewer sees a request message but the model sees nothing, the request is usually dying somewhere between the submit and the delivery, either stuck in a queue or silently expired. When someone then can't even open a new request, the whole feature is more or less offline for that room.
What's Actually Going On When the Button Doesn't Work?
The most common culprits, from what I've gathered and what support eventually hinted at, are:
- **Platform-side bugs.** SM occasionally pushes updates or server changes and the exclusive system glitches for a stretch until it gets patched. It typically hits rooms randomly, not because you did anything.
- **Notification routing issues.** Sometimes the request fires but the alert doesn't reach your screen, so by the time you notice, the viewer has given up or timed out.
- **Cache and session weirdness.** A stale browser session on your end can stop you from receiving or answering requests properly. A fresh login sometimes clears it.
- **Viewer-side account problems.** If one member suddenly can't send requests, the issue may be on his account, not yours. But when several viewers report the same thing, it's the platform.
The practical move is exactly what I did: open a ticket with support, screenshot the viewer messages as evidence, and keep working as normal while you wait. Response times vary, and honestly, these things usually resolve themselves before the ticket gets an answer. In the meantime, posting a note in your room chat that exclusives are temporarily glitching saves you from confused regulars.
The bigger lesson for models: don't agonize over something you can't fix. Document it, report it, and pivot. And if a platform keeps stalling on features that matter to your income, it's fair to spend more hours elsewhere. Personally, I've warmed to XLoveCam lately, it's been the steadier live-cam choice when I want reliability.

Has a platform feature ever silently broken on you mid-shift, and how long did support take to even acknowledge it? And more importantly, do you have a backup site you trust when your main one wobbles, or are you putting all your streaming eggs in one basket?
