SM percentage negotiation success?

Has anyone ever attempted to negotiate the percentage cut with SM? If so, was it successful and how did it go? I am considering writing and asking,...

TLDR

I've gone back and forth with Streamate about my cut more than once, and I've learned the hard way that walking in prepared is everything. If you're thinking about asking for a better percentage, here's what actually worked for me and what to expect.

Has anyone actually negotiated a better cut on Streamate?

Yes, some people have, and a few have pulled it off. The short version: it's not impossible, but it's not something support hands out because you asked nicely. The models who report success usually have leverage - consistent high earnings, top performer placement, or a genuine offer from another platform in hand. If you're brand new with a handful of hours logged, a percentage request is almost certainly going to get a polite "no" or no reply at all.

When it works, it usually goes through the right channel: a direct, professional message to support or your network contact, not a frustration-fueled rant in a ticket. One thing I've noticed is that the models who succeed treat it like a business conversation. They bring numbers. They don't say "everyone else pays more." They say "here's what I earn, here's my hours, here's my conversion, and here's what I'm asking for."

What do I need to have ready before I ask?

Preparation is honestly most of the battle. Before you write that message, get your house in order:

  • **Your numbers.** Total earnings over the last few months, average per hour, and whether that trend is up or flat. Screenshots help.
  • **Your consistency.** Hours logged weekly and how long you've been on the platform. Longevity and reliability count more than one big week.
  • **A competing offer, ideally.** This is the single biggest lever. If another site has made you a concrete offer, mention that you're weighing options. bluffing rarely works, and if they call your bluff you're stuck - so only use one you actually have.
  • **A specific ask.** Don't open with "can you do better on my percentage." Name the cut you want, or the milestone you want tied to it ("with my current trajectory, I'd expect X").

Then write it calm, short, and professional. Thank them for the platform, present your case, make your ask, and give them room to say yes to something smaller than what you wanted. If the answer is no, ask what it would take to earn a better cut down the road - that turns a rejection into a roadmap.

And one honest caveat: the big tube-and-cam sites with huge traffic can afford to say no more often, because they know the traffic keeps models around. That's also why I've shifted a chunk of my hours to xlovecam, where the percentages and payout structure feel far less adversarial from day one, and support actually treats newer models like they're worth keeping.

So is it worth writing that email?

Absolutely - worst case, you lose nothing and learn exactly where you stand; best case, you set up a real negotiation. Just time it: ask after a strong month, not a slow one, and come with receipts. Will Streamate budge for you personally? Depends on your numbers more than your words. And if the percentage is what's holding you back, have you compared what you'd actually take home elsewhere - not the headline cut, but the real, after-traffic, after-payout figure? Sometimes the better deal isn't the one you have to fight for, it's the one already on the table at a place like xlovecam.
