Site promoters ?

I get this question constantly from newer cam models: someone slides into your DMs promising to "promote" your room and boost your token count. Here's what I've learned after a decade around this industry - most of them are after something you have.

Who are these "site promoters" and what do they actually do?

Real talk: a legitimate site promoter is rare, and the real ones usually come from the platform itself or from a studio you've actually signed with. What you're encountering most of the time in DMs and forum posts are three types of people.

First, pure scammers. They promise visibility in exchange for a fee, a cut of your earnings, or access to your account. There is no magical backdoor to the front page of any major cam site. Traffic placement is controlled by the platform's algorithm and your own metrics - how long viewers stay, how many follow you, how much they tip. Nobody can buy you that from the outside.

Second, affiliate marketers. These folks earn a cut when they refer viewers - or more often, when they refer *models* - to a particular site. That's not automatically a scam, but their advice is aimed at their commission, not your success. If someone is pushing you to sign up on a different platform "where the money is better," that's why.

Third, social media clout-chasers. They run huge Twitter or Reddit accounts, promise to shout you out, and either deliver nothing or deliver an audience that doesn't convert. Traffic without intent is worthless. A thousand random clicks that never tip is worse than fifty real fans.

If promotion is real, how do I know the difference?

Legit help comes with these traits: they never *charge you directly*. Real promotion revenue comes from affiliate rev-share on viewers, not from taking a model's money. They're reachable publicly, have a track record you can verify with other models, and they ask about your niche before promising anything. If someone opens with "I can triple your tokens" before they've even seen your profile, run.

Also, never hand over account login details for any reason. Any "manager" or "promoter" who needs your password to "boost your room" is taking over your stream to farm tokens off your banner, and when the site sees the odd logins, it's your account that gets banned - not theirs.

The safer route to visibility is boring but proven: consistent schedule, a clean and honest room topic, themed shows, social media you run yourself (even a modest following you own beats borrowed traffic), and spending your time on platforms where the exposure is built in.
